Tips to improve your life through meditation.

Starting a meditation practice can be a daunting task.  Life is busy and commitments are pressing; so, it can feel a little counter-intuitive to take time out of your schedule to sit and “do nothing”.   However, meditation is a key practice that can help you with your spiritual growth, mental clarity, and physical stamina.  Here are a few tip to get you started:

  • Set time aside every day.  This can be done in the morning or at night.  The important part is that you commit to an every day practice.  Take at least 15 minutes each day to clear your mind and focus your intentions.
  • Start with an active meditation that involves certain visualizations.   It’s not always about finding the space between thoughts.  Using specific visualizations to ground yourself or flow energy through your body can keep your mind fixed on the task at hand.
  • Focus on your breath!  Try to lengthen your breath so that  each breath is a little longer then the next.  Make sure to balance both inhale and exhale.   Following your breath with your minds eye through your body is a great way to calm yourself and focus your mind.
